SCULPTURE
Learn to sculpt the human figure in clay. Working from drawings, photographs or any two-dimensional image acquire the skills necessary to create a fully three-dimensional figure. Starting with simple armature building, progress through the stages of the sculptural process towards a finished piece. The course will concentrate on basic techniques of working in clay while focusing on the fundamental principles of figurative sculpture: form, structure, shape, composition, anatomy.
The course is designed to progress at each students' level and experience so you can continue to develop from month to month or take a short course if visiting Berlin.

Teacher
Angus Massey's work is at once classical and contemporary. Drawing from Eastern philosophies, most notably Advaita, he uses the human figure as a means to question our commonly held notions of consciousness, reality and the self. He has studied in studios in various in Pietrasanta, Florence and Siena. He also travelled extensively in Africa and India where he worked with stone and bronze.
